Southwest Wildlife and Scenic Photography
Bill and June Grove capture Southwest Colorado year-round -- its wildlife, mountains, wild flowers and beautiful sunsets. Mesa Verde National Park and Alaskan wildlife are also some of their favorite subjects.
The Groves started sharing their love of the outdoors and its wildlife by making photo-cards to send to friends and family. This grew into the recipients wanting copies to share with other friends and families.
Bill's grandparents, Charlie and Clara Grove, owned the Buford Lodge, Store and Cabins 3 miles upstream from the junction of the North and South Forks of the White River, northeast of Meeker, Colorado. In the 1940's, Bill's parents, Ralph and Florence Grove, bought the place at Buford where they continued catering to vacationers, fisherman, and hunters.

Bill grew up following his father's footsteps, starting to photograph birds, bugs, and flowers as well as learning how to fly fish, hunt rabbits and care for horses, and especially the hard work involved in the operation of a successful business. Bill's aunt and uncle Claude Shults, were also avid photographers. Claude's outdoor cards were outstanding.
In 1968, Bill started sharing his love of nature with June. They have continued taking pictures and sharing them with friends and family until it seemed a natural progression to sell photos, note-cards and Christmas cards with photos of our unique areas in our great outdoors.
June Grove grew up in Aspen, Colorado, and through her parents, Eddie and Nona Vaughn, she learned to love the mountains, fishing, skiing, hiking and jeeping in the mountains. Maroon Bells remains a favorite spot for June and holds warm memories of Aspen in the 1950's.
